Crazy Stuff (Band, more band, Spamalot)

Sat May 9, 2009, 12:20 PM
  • Mood: Content
  • Listening to: The humming from my computer
  • Reading: Some book about assassins
  • Watching: My wireless die
  • Playing: Lotsa things. xD Most recently, Little Big Planet.
So. Life right now? Rather crazy. And it's all band's fault. xD (WARNING. This is a loooooooooooooooong journal.)

Soooo, a while back we decided to go to the Cantando Festival in Edmonton. On Saturday morning last week, we left by bus. We got to Canmore, and stayed a night at the hotel there. Then we got to Edmonton. :D Science World and fancy-smancy hotel tiem. It was a pretty sweet place. But, unfortunately, SUCKS TO BE ME AND :iconsunwrap2:, we're percussionists, and brought 42892 ZILLION more things than we needed. P: Including a bass drum. Not the standing one, the FLOOR ONE. How stupid are we? No, don't answer that. It wasn't our idea anyways.

SO ANYWAYS, we had to lug that stuff around EVERYWHERE. Including up to a room on the 23 floor, where our band teacher was staying in a suite with some of the chaperones. xDD Heavy, heavy stuff, that was. D: But enough of that. That night, we went to the night concert there, with the Wind Ensemble and Epsilon (Did I spell that right?), who were really quite epic. :D. Next day, we preformed at the festival, and spent the rest of the day at the West Ed Mall, second largest in the world. >:] I gots me Valkyrie Profile, Covenant of the Plume. What a morbid game. D: That night we skipped the concert, 'cause we were lazy. We got Chinese delivered instead. xD

NEXT DAY, we went to our band clinics. Learned lots of interesting stuff, but it was a long day. We also had to carry our drum stuff everywhere. P: But it was fun. We went to the concert that night. It was cool, but it NEVER ENDED. I didn't much care for the Trumpet choir or the Choir choir. P: Or even the Mill Creek Colliery band. Only the last, UoM Wind Ensemble, I really liked. They played well, and good songs, but the songs were SO DAMN LONG. D: They only played about 5 songs, and they took about an hour. Ugh. Too long. Several people were asleep in the stands at that time. And had to be dragged back to the hotel. Literally. xD

The next day was our last day. We left Edmonton, and drove back home. :D With the crazy, immature other band we were driving with. But I won't go into that.

Then, we get back home. We have a couple days free of band, basically that weekend. Then our billets are coming. xD To go to a festival nearby us, they needed a place to stay. So, our band offered, and we all billeted their band students. I got 4 hilarious and crazy girls. xD They were pretty awesome. Even if we did have to get up at 6:00 AM EVERY morning to get to band. xD We played a mass concert together. It was pretty awesome.

Sooo, they just left today. We just dropped them off at the airport. BUT, I'm not done with my crazy week yet! Oh, no. Nope, :iconsunwrap2:'s and my families are both going to Spamalot together! The play, in Spokane. Monty Python in live format. :D I can't wait. We'll be getting back sometime tomorrow, I have no clue when. xD

Now, if I haven't replied to your journals or commented on your deviations, you know why. xD I've been a BIT busy lately. But, I got a laptop, so that helps. :D But enough from me. This journal is long enough. xD I'll try to post smaller ones again in the future.
